Mental Health: What is doing the Work?
Physical health has progressed and substantially improved our life expectancy. Butt, mental health has not improved.'
The most crucial work we can ever do is on ourselves. That is why it is referred to as the work.
Here is what I learnt in therapy and from "doing the work".
People regularly say we need to "do the work", however what is "the work"? I hope this post will come up with an answer to this query and additionally help you heal and restore your mental health.
The work is seeking help for our mental health. however, allow me begin from the very starting, with a history lesson about health and what I mean about "mental health".
When people discovered how to heal our bodies, mortality rates fell. in keeping with Dr guy Winch (YouTube him, he's brilliant!), whilst we discovered physical and dental hygiene 100 years ago, our life expectancy improved. In truth, it nearly doubled. He therefore advocates that we expand our very own emotional first aid.
What our great-grandparents supposed by mid-life isn't like what we mean with the aid of this. They meant our 30s, we mean our late 40s. while our great-grandparents started out to work (around the age of 10) is different from when we begin working (around 16 years old). Such has been the effect of an improvement in physical health, among many things.
Why is that? Why is this vital? it's because of the discovery (around 300 years ago) and acceptance of the Germ theory in technological know-how (around 150 years ago). This meant that people, for the first time in records, have been taught about physical and dental hygiene — to the factor that physical and dental hygiene is sort of second nature to us.
'Doing the work' is investing time and effort to achieve a mission (the definition of work). In this example, the assignment is gaining mental health.
So physical health has advanced and substantially improved our life expectancy. however, mental fitness has not progressed. Overwhelming proof indicates that lately it is worsening, in a world that is getting more unequal.
Doing the work is restoring your mental health, i.e. healing it and practicing mental hygiene. it is going to a therapist and confronting those things that harm your emotions and make you feel indignant, unhappy, much less effective, aggravating or depressed however don't have anything to do along with your physical health. it's far in search of and taking medicine if need be.

So begin small. begin with one concept, e.g. self-forgiveness, and spend a couple of months getting to know and working towards it. Doing the work is a manner and it's going to take years and even final your lifetime, just like taking showers, brushing your teeth and washing your fingers.

“It should be noted that he has not forgotten the fact that I took the bull by the horns and told him that in the interest of the country, he have to accept the need for the party to provide a balanced ticket for the 2015 general elections in terms of religion and geo-political zones.
“Sinnce that time, he has been very active, plotting at every point to undermine me, within and outside the national assembly.”
Mother sells six-week-old baby, buys cellphone with proceeds
| Miracle Johnson |
Operatives of the Edo state Police Command have began investigation into the alleged sale of a six-week-old baby by her 23-yr-old mother, Miracle Johnson.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokumo, who confirmed the incident, defined it as a severe offence.
It was collected that Miracle offered the child, Greatness, to an orphanage in Onitsha, Anambra state, for N200,000.
It was learnt that the nursing mother, who hails from Agenebode, inside the Etsako East local government area of the state, was paid in cash.
She was said to have used a part of the proceeds to shop for a cell phone.
Miracle, the mother of the baby, blamed her action on frustration and the inability of her husband to take care of her and her other children.
She said she was persuaded by one Mama joy, said to be at large, to sell the infant and give the cash to her husband to begin a business.
She stated, “My baby was born on July 2. I sold her due to frustration. My husband was simply suffering (to provide for us).
“My friend (Mama joy) said that considering that my husband was not taking care of me, if I did it (sold the baby), I could give the money to my husband to start a business or buy a bike.
“Two weeks later, she got here again. I did not know what happened to me. So, I carried a bag, picked a few things and left.
“I sold her to an orphanage in Onitsha. The orphanage bought the kid for N200,000. I simply bought only a cellphone; I did not need it, but she (Mama joy) forced me to do so,” she said.
Miracle said that she regretted her action and later confessed to her pastor.
She said, “I informed my pastor what I did and that it was a mistake for which i would by no means forgive myself. So, my husband and i went to a police station to report. I realize what I did was not good. I pray that my child will forgive me.”
Her husband, Johnson Omovuokpor, expressed anger that his spouse went ahead with her plan, notwithstanding his disapproval.
He said, “while she informed me about her plan, I informed her to forget about it and exercise patience.
“On that day, I took my motorcycle out for repairs. after I went back home to get some money, I saw my first daughter with my neighbour.
“when I asked about my wife’s whereabouts, i was informed that she went out with a bag, announcing that she was going to buy something. So, I remembered what she said she wanted to do with the baby.
“When she called me later in the afternoon to inform me that she had sold the baby, I cursed her and ended the call. I became confused afterwards and couldn't do anything for the rest of that day.”
The Commissioner of Police in the state said the infant would be rescued even as the suspect would be charged to court.
Kokumo stated, “it's far an act against laws in Nigeria. Now that we've the woman in our custody, we will actually charge her to court. The infant will be rescued.”
I HAVE NOT DEFECTED TO APGA--- ATIKU ABUBAKAR
![]() |
| Atiku |
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has debunked reports of his defection to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
There were unconfirmed reports that Atiku left the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), which he lately joined.
the former Vice-President has since signified his interest to run for President on PDP’s platform in 2019.
A declaration issued via Atiku’s campaign office on Sunday, August 26, 2018, described the report as false.
The assertion reads: “For avoidance of any doubts, Atiku remains the front-line aspirant for the presidential ticket of the PDP.
“in the past two months, Atiku Abubakar has moved across states within the country, consulting with stakeholders of the PDP and explaining to them his agenda as encapsulated inside the acronym JOBS (Jobs, opportunity, Being united and security) for Nigeria.
“The national consultations continue this week with visits to the South West, North West and North central zones of the country.
“Atiku’s passion and commitment to winning the PDP primaries is without any compromise and to anticipate that he will abandon the hard work he has done with the tremendous results he is getting from the stakeholders of the party is, to say the least, preposterous and unthinkable.
“The campaign calls on supporters of Atiku to remain steadfast and see the contrived information of defection as an attempt to distract it from the set venture of winning the PDP ticket and the 2019 presidential election with the aid of the grace of God.”
Atiku Abubakar recently promised to rule for one term if he's elected President in 2019.
